How to write a sports novel? If you have a sport, enough time and creativity, You can write a sports novel. It took me a year an half to write Firehearts, but I remember I wanted to write a story just like my favorite tv shows and animes. But i remember I wanted to take inspiration from the best parts and none of the bad writing. Ironically, writing this masterpiece was a lot like actually practicing martial arts to a serious level. It takes time, concentration, and perseverance to see the results you want and it will not happen overnight. It can’t compare to real athlete biographies, but I truly believe this the best sports novel you will ever find.

This book is a hidden gem I found in Powell’s bookstore. It delves deep into the life of an MMA fighter and it gives a number of life lessons the same way the 48 laws of power do. How he grew up looking up to his older brother up until college wrestling, how he learned to be brutally honest with himself, when he built a neighborhood of a fighters that came from all over the world,

Be sure to take more notes than an orchestra

This book doubles as a biography and then an instruction manual for how to learn his MMA techniques. It begins with his childhood, and then takes you through his journey to become a wrestler in both Japan and his home country of USA, just as the UFC was being founded. It even describes his fights against guys like the Royce Gracie in UFC 1. PS this book is the size of a college textbook, so study it like it’s a college textbook.

fAuthor’s/Readers note: This man was the bad boy of the UFC. Growing up in Huntington Beach, his parents were drug addicts, but after he moved out at 18, he dominated the world of fight sports and didn’t take any crap from anyone. On tv, he came off as bad-mouthed and arrogant, even when he became one of the first ultimate fighter tv coaches against Ken Shamrock, but after reading his book, I can tell you, he revealed his vulnerable side to the rest of the world.

Championship Fighting: Explosive Punching and Aggressive Defense is the ultimate guide to mastering the art of hand-to-hand combat with unwavering confidence. This comprehensive book delves into the techniques and strategies that have made the world’s greatest fighters successful. From unstoppable punching power to impenetrable defensive maneuvers, this resource covers it all. Get ready to dominate the competition with the proven methods found within these pages.

Athlete’s, listen up: Without a doubt, David G’s 40% speaks volumes across all fight teams in the USA.
He wasn’t in fight sports, He was an overweight exterminator who decided to serve his country and became the only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events, inspiring Outside magazine to name him the Fittest (Real) Man in America.

What have I learned from reading fight sports biographies?

I’ve learned that even the strongest men in a country have weaknesses and personal lives. I also learned what it takes before reaching a championship. Example: Tito Ortiz had to win college state wrestling 3 times over before his first pro fight.

I also learned that focusing on one area of your life too much (fitness) risks the health of other areas. But I can’t speak about the shortcomings of champions I look up to, especially since I’m not a champion myself. You’ll have to read these books yourself.

What benefit does it bring an aspiring fighter to have these biographies memorized?

Whenever I start to question if I’m on the right track to becoming a fighter, remembering these stories puts me at ease, because I always find myself practicing, improving, and listening to my coaches. I remember that these weren’t thrilled movies that happened in one day, they’re not even sports movies that you finish in 2 1/2 hours, they’re the life stories of fight sports champions who trained long-term and went most days without seeing results. I remember these biographies so I’m confident in my training.
